The Park-Vu Drive-In was opened on June 7, 1950 with June Allison in “Little Women”. It was operated by Huish & Gilmore Theatres. On April 28, 1952 it was flooded and was relocated to a drier location in Mill Creek later in 1952. (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

A 1950 aerial shows the drive-in at that location. By 1958, a building had replaced the drive-in. Today, the east side of the property is Habitat for Humanity while the west side is the parking lot.

Whatever the flooding issues were, they seemed to have either disappeared or become a manageable issue after the drive-in moved.

The flooding actually occurred during the city’s worst flooding in years, which happened on April 28, 1952.
