The Lake Theatre opened as early as 1936 and was remodeled on June 29, 1949.
The Lake Theatre closed for the final time on August 17, 1976 with Sara Sperati in “Girls Who’ll Do Anything” (aka:“The Long Night” & “La Nottata”). It was originally scheduled to be closed for only two days before being scheduled to reopen, but a massive power failure two days later on August 19, 1976 knocked the theater’s power and aren’t being able to relaunch the theatre in its entirety.
