The Swansboro Drive-In launched just west of the city in 1951. Theatre Booking Services handled the film acquisition for the small theater. The ozoner complemented the hardtop Wade Theatre turned K&M Theatre in town. N.J. Killum operated both it and the Jacksonville Drive-In. Clayton Humphrey became the next operator. The Swansboro Drive-In ultimately closed and was demolished.
