The East Drive-In was launched by Everett Enterprises of Charlotte on April 15, 1950 with “The Younger Brothers”. It was located a little less than a mile from Beaufort just to the East on US Highway 70. The theatre featured RCA projection and sound. The East screen tower was widened to accommodate CinemaScope titles. Harold K. Baldtree took on the theatre which may not have had a 1957 season. Its final advertised showings occur on November 2, 1959 with “Pork Chop Hill.” It was destroyed by Hurricane Donna in 1960.
