Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1916 map, in the northern storefront of the Lear Block, a two story brick commercial building constructed sometime between 1888 and 1891. The 1911 map shows a confectionery here.

This would have been a decent size theatre, but there was a lot of competition in the area. It’s unknown how long it operated.

Sadly, this block was one of several completely destroyed by Urban ‘Renewal’. A solid block of 2-5 story buildings was replaced with a depressing bank office and an ocean of parking lots.
