The Lot 1 Cineplex originally opened its doors on 24th December 1996 as a joint venture between the mall’s developers, Shaw Organization and Eng Wah Organization. It originally comprised of four screens and 1,026 seats.
In the early-2000’s, this venture was dissolved but Shaw Theatres continued to manage the cinema on its own.
It was closed for major renovations on 1st July 2019, so as to serve the needs of the local populace with more movie choices. Originally slated to be completed in the second half of 2020, it was delayed by one year due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new Shaw Theatres Lot One eventually reopened its doors on 24th September 2021, comprising of eight screens equipped with booth-less laser projection and 764 seats.
