The 200-seat Bland Theatre was a very short-lived movie house located in the Loel Ritterbusch building, and only operated for no more than two years.

The Bland Theatre attempted to open its doors on January 16, 1940 with a one-day showing of Jackie Cooper in “The Streets Of New York” along with a few short subjects, but failed due to shipping delays of both sound and its screen installations. Some installations include green drapery walls and cushion-bottomed seats. It reopened hours later with the same attraction.

During its final days of operation, the Bland Theatre only operated two-days-a-week (Wednesdays and Saturdays), until closing for the final time in May 1942.
