On April 6, 1940, Boxoffice reported that Frank Forsey, owner and operator of the Rio Theatre in Midway, had been charged with running a lottery based on his practice of holding drawings for groceries.
The 1950 Film Daily Year Book included the 210-seat Rio Theatre in tiny Midway.
