The 178-seat Strand Theatre, a movie theater featuring “new sound equipment and new seats,” opened on June 27, 1938 with Gary Cooper in “The Plainsman”. It was operated by Clinton Vucovich. The Strand Theatre was expanded and remodeled in 1942. It was closed on May 5, 1946.

Opened on June 27, 1938 with Gary Cooper in “The Plainsman” along with an unnamed Popeye, unnamed musical novelty, and Paramount News. It was closed on May 5, 1946 when the Pen Theatre opened nearby the following month.
