Argo Theatre

The Argo Theatre getting its name from the small town it was located in opened in 1934 seating 461. It had no outstanding features about the front facade other than the red brick, with a small lobby. The box office was located in the middle of the front entrance.

The Argo Theatre hung in there until 1964 when it closed.

Some Chicago Tribune articles circa 1922 discuss boxing matches being held at the Argo Theater. That predates the opening of this theater in 1934, obviously. Perhaps there was an Argo in Chicago that is unlisted.
