This triplex is a replacement of two theaters which were the Toho Shikishima (formerly known as the Shikishima Club; 1911-1999 due to financial difficulties) and the Shikishima Cinema (1956-1999 due to financial difficulties).
The 480-seat triplex opened its doors on the 4th floor of the Tohoshikijima Building in July 2000 under the name “Shikishima Cine Pop”. Its first operator is unknown, but was later operated by Toho in October 2006 retaining its name. Throughout most of 2010, the theater went through many special events and screenings.
On May 5, 2011, it was renamed “TOHO Cinemas Namba Annex” as an adjacent to the 9-screen Namba Marui’s TOHO Cinemas Namba. Unfortunately, all of its three-screen names (Cinepops 1-3) were renamed Screens 10-12.
