Dannemora Theatre

Located in Dannemora, Clinton County, NY. The Dannemora Theatre is a small theatre located across the street from the famous Clinton Correctional Facility, the largest maximum-security prison and the third-oldest prison in all of New York (opened in 1845), which once housed the state’s death row for men until 2007. In the 1931 edition of Film Daily Yearbook Clinton Prison was listed with a 1,200-seat movie theatre. Also in 1931 the 250-seat Dannemora Theatre made its first appearance in the Film Daily Yearbook.

The Dannemora Theatre was still open in 1952, but had closed by 1955.
