Located in the Șelimbăr district, to the south of Sibiu city centre, the Cineplexx opened in March 2020. It was the city’s second multiplex: the Cine Gold had opened just a few months before, in November 2019 (see separate Cinema Treasures entry).
Like its rival, Cineplexx is housed in a shopping mall, in this case Shopping City.
The five auditoriums have Dolby Atmos sound systems, RealD Ultimate screens and 4k RGB laser projection.
