In Redhill, Surrey, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s new flagship development, The Rise, is intended “to give residents and workers new and exciting leisure choices as well as attracting more visitors to Redhill town centre”.

Demolition of the existing vacant buildings took place between December 2019 and May 2020, with construction starting in July 2020.

The many leisure activities in this large complex include a climbing wall, ten-pin bowling, axe throwing, mini-golf, interactive darts, an amusement arcade - and a six-screen Light multiplex cinema.

That was due to open at Easter 2023, but it was delayed slightly until Friday 16th June. The opening films included the Take That musical “Greatest Days” and children’s favourites “The Flash”, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”.

Seating capacities are: Screen 1:65, Screen 2:103, Screen 3:152, Screen 4:74, Screen 5:74 and Screen 6:46.
