Arc Theatre

This large theatre was located on the upper floor of the W.E. Pharis building, a large two-story brick commercial block constructed in 1910. Opened by 1914, the theatre space was located behind some offices at the front of the second floor, with the stage and screen on the west wall.

Despite the generous size and stage facilities, this theatre faced stiff competition from early entries to the market, and the 1919 map shows a lodge hall on the second floor.

The building today is a bit worn, with some of the brickwork having fallen off the roofline, and only one of three storefronts occupied. The second floor appears vacant.
