Located in Hyde, Cheshire, now part of Tameside, Greater Manchester. The Queen’s Cinema was opened in the 1920’s by Mr. S. Meyers. It had a 25ft wide proscenium and all seating was on a single sloping floor. Around 1929 it was equipped with a P.T.A. sound system, which was later replaced by a BTH (British Thomson-Houston) sound system. In the early-1930’s it was operated by M & I Cinemas. By 1944 it was operated by the W.J. Speakman Circuit. It was closed in the early-1950’s.
The building still stands in 2023 in use as Hyde Snooker & Social Club.
