Located in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. The 100-seat Elgiva Theatre was built near the Library on Elgiva Way in 1976. It was initially used by the Chesham Film Society and was soon screening mainstream films. That building was closed in 1997 and was demolished in 1998, with part of the site becoming a Sainsbury’s supermarket.
A new 300-seat Elgiva Theatre was built on land directly across St. Mary’s Way near the corner of Broad Street. Opening in 1998 the Elgiva Theatre is used as a live theatre and cinema. In 2015 it was refurbished and was equipped with digital projection. It is operated by Chesham Town Council.

Not quite true, the original Elgiva Hall is still extant, and a part of the library complex. This is located on Elgiva Lane, HP5 2JD.
The Elgiva Theatre is a good 200 yards up from the library on St. Mary’s Way, and very much a separate building!
