The New Rex Theatre was opened in June 1937. It replaced an earlier smaller Rex Theatre located at 119 South C Street (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
The new Rex Theatre was closed on January 16, 1957. It was demolished and a Chase Bank (closed by 2022) was built on the site.
