The Drive-In was opened in 1950 in the unincorporated village of Branchland. By 1951 it had been renamed Lincoln Drive-In, operated by Mrs D. Brown & R. Phelan. It was the only theatre, Located in the heart of the Guyan Valley of West Virginia. By 1953 it had been renamed Guyan Drive-In with Mrs D. Brown as the sole operator. The ozoner appears to have lasted through a 20-year leasing cycle closing in 1972, although details are not too clear on its final operational year. The Guyan Drive-In not only hosted movies but it is reported that it hosted music events in the 1950’s including Porter Waggoner and Flatt & Scruggs.

A 1971 aerial shows the screen to be gone, so it doesn’t appear that the drive-in made it to the end of its lease.
Today, the property has not been developed. It appears to be a storage area for gas or propane equipment. There is no trace of the drive-in remaining.
