The Grand Forks Herald, April 23, 1988, noted the Colony Twin Theatre was celebrating its tenth anniversary. With the opening of the Midco 10 on May 6, 1994, the Colony Twin converted to a discount operation.

Previously home to Midcontinent Theatre’s general offices, which were moved to the Midco 10, the Colony Twin Theatre ended its days August 18, 1994, with John Goodman in “The Flintstones” and Jeff Bridges in “Blown Away”.

The Sonoma lofts was built on the site in 2014.
