This building was erected in 1907 for Paul and John Robinson, who operated a livery business. It was a tall two-story brick building with a gable roof. The second floor was a hall, which the brothers used as an ‘opera house’. Movies were also shown until sometime in 1910, when the brothers sold the building and contents, except the ‘moving picture machine’ which they moved to their new operation in the People’s Theater, which was then under construction.

The building was later used by the Mint Cola Bottling Works for a time, and a grocery store until the 1960’s. The building was still in existence in 1998 when the NRHP listing for the Roanoke Rapids Historic District was written, but has since been demolished, along with everything else on the block, to be replaced by a grocery store and parking lot.
