Located in Wheatley Hill, County Durham. The Miners Hall was opened by 1911 when a projection box was installed to enable films to be screened. It was granted a Cinematograph Licence in 1912. Around 1929 it was equipped with a Wirephone and Echo sound system. This was replaced in the late-1930’s by a Western Electric(WE) sound system. The Miners Hall was still open in 1944, but had closed by 1947.
It is now used as the Wheatley Hill Workmen’s Social Club & Institute.
