Vox

The Vox was opened in 1935 with Gary Cooper in “Les tois lanciers du Bengale” (The Lives of a Bengal Lancer). Seating was provided in orchestra & balcony levels. In the 1970’s it was known for screening many Walt Disney films. It ended its days from the mid=-1980’s as an adult cinema, closing on 31st March 1992.

It was purchased in 1994 by the City of Mulhouse for redevelopment. Later demolished for housing.

Renovated in 1956 and 1973. In the 1950s and 1960s specialized in German Romantic films set in beautiful landscapes. 1970s a family theater. Mid 1980s porn. Bought by the City of Mulhouse in 1994 for redevelopment. Eventually demolished and replaced by housing.
