Opened on June 27,1980 as a twin by an independent operator. The Winchester Cinemas opening movies were Michael Caine in “The Island” & Sissy Spacek in “Coal Miner’s Daughter”. In 1983 it was taken over by Loeks Theatres. Six more screens were added in December 1985. Star Theatres took over in 1989. It was last operated by Loews Cineplex from 1999 until it was closed on January 18, 2000.

The Winchester Cinemas opened its doors as a twin on June 27, 1980 with “The Island” in Screen 1 and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” in Screen 2. Six more screens were added in December 1985, bringing a total to eight screens. The Winchester Cinemas closed on January 18, 2000.
I made a mistake (again), It originally owned by Jeff Dunn (manager of Harvey-Farber Enterprise) till Loeks took over in 1983 ,Star in 1989 and lastly Loews-Cineplex in 1999 until closing on January 18, 2000.
