Located in the Walker district to the east of the city centre. A conversion of a former chapel, the 360-seat Vaudeville Theatre was opened on 23rd November 1908 with various stage acts (aka variety in the UK). Became a cinema on 17th October 1910 with two variety acts as part of the programme. In 1911 it was enlarged by adding a raised stepped seating area at the rear which contained 30 seats. In May 1912 it was taken over by William Baker. In 1931 it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. The Baker family operated it until its closure on 2nd August 1958. It has since been demolished.
