In 1911, electricity was brought to Twisp and the first movie house opened. The Twisp Theatre was damaged by fire in 1947 but later reopened. It was destroyed by fire in 1953.
A new Twisp Theatre was built in 1954 and was still open in 1957.

They May 22, 1954 issue of Boxoffice said that new theater was to be built in Twisp: “The Charles Nelsons have signed a contract for the building for a new theatre in Twisp, Wash., to replace the one that burned down last year.”
