Cant find any showtimes for the theater for next Tuesday (September 25). I tried the Marcus website, app and Fandango. Is there something going on that they aren’t having any showings, or is it just a glitch?

The Wehrenberg website indicates the theater will be all luxury seating as of May of this year. It does not say if any additional Five Star Lounges will be added, or just Suite Seats.

The entire wing of original 10 auditoriums has undergone conversion to luxury seating. Two will be Five Star Lounge theatres, and the other eight will feature “Suite Seats.” New restrooms in the old wing are also part of the project.

The entire theater has been remodeled inside and out with addition of a 5 Star Lounge/Bar and Luxury 5 Star seating in 2 auditoriums providing wait staff service at the push of a button and power assist reclining loungers with heated seats and backs.

As well, in addition to the info mentioned immediately above, the AMC Northwest Square 10 had opened in June 1986.

When the St. Charles 10 opened, there was already a 10-screen plex operated by Wehrenberg, the St. Clair 10 in Fairview Heights (Ill.) which had opened in May 1986. The Halls Ferry was still an 8-screen operation when the St. Charles 10 opened.

I’ve since seen here:

The Prestige
We Are Marshall
Mr. Bean’s Holiday
The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D
Enchanted (in THX)
Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium

Last month, I saw An Inconvienent Truth in old of the older theatres and me and my mom liked what we saw. The movie was great and the theatre is nice (it’s been renovated, has a restaurant and a big lobby and game room). The projection was a little off but at least they put care into a little art film (unlike the Campbell 16 in Springfield, MO, near my hometown).

Actually, the St. Charles 18 originally opened as the St. Charles 10, which was not the largest multiplex in St. Louis at that time, as the Halls Ferry 14 was still open. I’m afraid I don’t know the exact date the theater expanded from 10 to 18 screens, but that would still be smaller than the Ronnie’s 20.
