The Markesan Theatre opened on October 1, 1938.
During May 1954, the original 90ft screen was replaced by CinemaScope, with a 200ft screen. This occurred around the time the nearby Randolph Theatre in Randolph installed their 242ft screen from its former 110ft screen.
The Markesan Theatre was closed in 1958.

The October 8, 1938 issue of Boxoffice said that the Markesan Theatre had opened on October 1st.
