This new theatre was opened nameless by Arthur Aune of the Opera House and Otto Olson on May 7, 1910 along with a naming contest. The Orpheum Theatre name was the winner, and that name was in use beginning May 16, 1910 and the person who suggested it got a three-month free pass.
New operator Burt Herington gave the venue a major refresh and reopened it on April 20, 1912 as the Gem Theatre operating for the next ten years. Though not known for certain, it appears that the Gem Theatre closed not long after its tenth year and the bookings may have been moved to the Dupont Club Theatre.
