Located in Worcester, just off the city centre near the racecourse. The Swan Theatre opened in 1965 and was designed by architect Henry Gorst. There are 4 single and 2 large dressing rooms. The venue run and owned by the Worcester Theatre Charitable Trust, and plays host to many stage shows and live performances. In the 1970’s office spaces, a sound studio and a workshop was added to the theatre, which as another upgrade in 2009. The theatre has had many Associate and Assistant Directors including Phyllida Lloyd CBE, David Wood OBE, Richard Digby Day, Paul Clarkson, and Sam Walters.
It was announced in November 2021 that the Swan Theatre group will move to the Scala Theatre (see other Cinema Treasures entry) in the city centre as part of a £17.9 million pound redevelopment plan.
