Located in the Westcotes district to the southwest of the city centre, adjacent to the Boulevard Rink (which was also used as a cinema and survives today (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures) and the railway on the other side (which has been demolished). The Boulevard Electric & Variety Theatre was opened in July 1910. It was a purpose built cinema with 500-seats. It was closed as the Boulevard Cinema in 1917.

The building was used as a dining hall for Alderman Newton’s School in the 1960’s. It was demolished in February 1998 and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre was built on an extended site.
