The 200-seat Rife Theatre opened on September 5, 1947, according to a note in the next day’s issue of Boxoffice. It was the first theatre to open in Climax Springs, and was operated by Woodrow Rife, who ran it four days a week with two single-bill programs. Its first movie was “My Pal Trigger” starring Roy Rogers.
In the August 20, 1949 issue of Boxoffice, Rife wrote to ask permission to reprint a passage from the magazine. He signed the note, Rife Theatre, Climax Springs, Mo.
The 1950 Film Daily Year Book did not include any theatres in Climax Springs.
