Ronnie Drive-In

The December 1, 1951 issue of Boxoffice reported that Jimmy Minnix was expected to open a new 300-car Ronnie’s Drive-In at Lily, Ky.

The 1955-56 Theatre Catalog included the Ronnie Drive-In under Lily, capacity 200 cars, owner O. G. Roaden.

According to Google Earth and Google Street View, the ramps, projection building, and at least part of the screen tower are still visible about 500 feet southwest of the Dollar General on US 25. Lily is an unincorporated coal town, but it has its own post office and Zip Code.

A 1969 aerial shows the drive-in intact and appearing to be open.

By 1982, the drive-in looks to be closed as the exit road appears to be overgrown.
