Dick Hartwig opened the Elite Theatre on July 12, 1909 dedicated to motion pictures. The Elite Theatre went dark likely at the end of a 10-year lease on January 25, 1919.
Mrs. A. Robbins took on the venue rebranding it as the Liberty Theatre on April 30, 1919. It appears to have ceased operations after just six months in November of 1919. The Rex Theatre moved its bookings to the Liberty Theatre location temporarily for three months on January 30, 1920. The Rex Theatre closed May 1, 1920 with Wallace Reid in “The Lottery Man". Bookings were then moved to the Rivoli Theatre on May 3, 1920 and continued for over 100 years as the Rivoli Theatre was still in business in the 2020’s.
