A vintage postcard shows the existence of this cinema with poster displays in front of building. Located on Milltown Boulevard, adjacent to the (still standing) Post Office, the Bijou Theatre was opened in 1915. Following a remodel in 1923 it was renamed Queen Theatre.
It was closed in 1957, but reopened in 1958, continuing into the 1960’s. The Queen Theatre has been demolished and a single story building for RBC Financial Group now stands on the site.

“St. Stephen is a Canadian town in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, situated on the east bank of the St. Croix River around the intersection of New Brunswick Route 170 and the southern terminus of New Brunswick Route 3.” —Wikipedia. It is across the river from Calais, Maine.
The Bijou Theatre opened in 1915, and around 1923 was remodeled and reopened as the Queen Theatre. According to the St. Croix Historical Society, the Queen closed in 1957, but the destruction by fire of the only other movie house in the region, the State Theatre in Calais, Maine, led to the Queen’s reopening in 1958, after which it continued to operate for many years, well patronized both by Canadians and by Mainers.
I went to movies there in the 70s when I lived in Woodland.
