The Atoka Opera House launched February 20, 1903 with a live play. The venue experimented with moving pictures and the results were solid. Electric Amusement Co. brought hand-tinted films to the Opera House in 1908.
In 1909, L. B. Griffing remodeled the Opera House and went full time into the moving picture theatre business. The new Cozy Theatre opened in town and presented a challenge to the Opera House. On September 25, 1916, the Opera House was sold at foreclosure auction. It was purchased and converted into a Czechoslovakian movie theatre. The venue then burned down in 1924.
