This nearly-300 seat movie opened in 1914 in the Near West Side neighborhood on W. Ogden Avenue near W. Van Buren Street. It was located across from the present-day location of Malcom X College. The Bishop Theatre only survived the sound era of movies by a few years, closing by the mid-1930’s. It was torn down long ago and a parking lot is located at the site.
