Located adjacent to and behind the Foster’s Coach House Tavern. The Starr Theatre was opened around 1927 (it was listed in the 1928 edition of Film Daily Yearbook). It was equipped for sound around 1930. By 1950 it was operated by the Liggett-Florin Booking Service chain. They were still the operators in 1957. It was closed in early-1972 and was demolished in February 1972, only the two side walls remained standing.
The Upstate Films theatre was built on the site, opening in May 1972 (It has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
