Cinema House

The North British Electric Theatre was opened on 9th June 1911. Free teas were offered to patrons as part of their enjoyment. During World War I it was re-named Imperial Cinema. It was later taken over by the Thomas Ormiston chain and re-named Cinema House. In March 1928 it was taken over by the Denman/Gaumont British Theatres chain. They closed it on 24th May 1930.

From around 1940 it became a Salvation Army Citadel. After they moved out the building was derelict for many years and it was demolished in 2004.
