Ritz Cinema

Located in Skewen, to the northwest of Neath, Glamorgan. The Ritz Cinema was opened in the mid-1930’s It had a 24ft wide proscenium and a Western Electric(WE) sound system. Later in the 1950’s the proscenium was widened to 36ft when CinemaScope was installed. Still open in 1958, it had closed by 1963 it became a dance hall, then a bingo club. It was demolished around 2001 and the site is now a car park.
