Located in Conisbrough between Doncaster & Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The Picture Hall was opened in 1912. It had a rather narrow arched entrance. By 1934 it had been re-named Globe Palace Cinema and was equipped with a Morrison sound system. The auditorium was given an Art Deco style makeover. In later years the sound system was replaced by a GB-Kalee sound system. The Globe Palace Cinema was closed in 1959. It has been said the final film was Virginia McKenna in “Carve Her Name With Pride”.
It stood unused for a while and then re-opened as a bingo club, but this was short lived. The building was sold in 1966 and it was demolished. A Grays Go-Local supermarket now operates on the site.
