The Lafayette Cinema was built as a single screen cinema. It was designed by Hungarian architect Lazlo or Ladislav Hudec, who also designed Shanghai cinemas such as the Grand Theatre and Zhekiang Theatre (which have their own pages on Cinema Treasures).
The building is now used as the Art & Design Centre.
