On June 13, 1953, Boxoffice included in its theatre openings list: “Mount Olive, N.C. - The 200-car Clearview Drive-in was opened here by Henry Zibeless and Broadus Riverbark (sic).”

Its first appearance in the Theatre Catalog was in the 1953-54 edition, which listed the Clearview Drive-In under Mount Olive. Its exec was Broadus Rivenbark, and its capacity was 300 cars.

Rivenbark was still operating the Clearview when he died in March 1962. Beginning with the 1963 edition, the Motion Picture Almanac changed the Clearview’s owner from Rivenbark to Marion Davis.

On April 8, 1968, the concession stand-projection booth burned in what police called an arson fire. The Clearview’s final appearance in the MPA was the 1976 edition. Since that marked the end of a decade-long autopilot for that drive-in list, the Clearview probably closed years earlier.
