Parkway Cinema

The Parkway Cinema opened on January 28, 1971 with Peter O'Toole in “Goodbye, Mr. Chips” on its Ultravision screen. It reopened as a twin cinema on May 12, 1978, and closed in summer of 1983 with Anthony Perkins in “Psycho II”.

The last movie to play at the Parkway was Psycho II. It was left on the marquee for quite a while after it closed.

Actually, the Parkway Cinema closed on August 28, 1983 with “Trading Places” in Screen 1 and “Porky’s II - The Next Day” in Screen 2. The theater building became the United Clothing Store three months later.
