The Empress Theatre was opened by 1926. It was remodeled in 1927 to the plans of architect Charles W. Steinbaugh when it was operated by the Booth Brothers circuit. It was still open in 1931, but had closed by 1932 and was demolished. By 1933 the Booth Theatre had been built and opened on the site, later renamed Arbor Theatre (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
