The Port Angeles Drive-In was advertised in the Port Angeles Evening News as opening May 9, 1956, but according to maps there may have been a drive-in here as early as 1954. It was listed in the 1955 edition of Theatre Catalog, operated by Fred Danz & Sterling Theatres.
Opening night patrons were treated to three hours of 1950 stars: Spencer Tracy, Robert Wagner, and the future Mrs. Howard Hughes, Jean Peters, in “Broken Lance”. The second feature was “The Black Shield Of Falworth” staring Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.
Last operated with two screens until about 1986 when a Kmart was built on the site, which operated until 1998 and in October 2010 was replaced by a WalMart Supercenter.
