Teatro Lux was a $1 million movie palace in the heart of Guatemala City and was the place to see Spanish language versions of Paramount Studio films from Hollywood in the Golden Age of film. Its capacity of 2,600 seats made it the city’s largest movie theatre. The impressive structure survived the demise of Hollywood making the transition to a performing arts facility still vibrant in the 21st Century.
