CGR La Rochelle Olympia

Located in La Rochelle, west central France, south of Nantes. This historic 18th Century building also houses the Cafe de la Paix (a frequent haunt of writer Georges Simenon). The Olympia Cinema opened in 1913 with 620-seats located in orchestra & balcony levels. In 1973 the operators CGR Cinemas created two more screens in other parts of the building, and its three screens had 350, 97 & 152-seats. The original auditorium remains intact

It was closed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was said in October 2020 that it may well not re-open.
