The Garfield Theatre was one of Hollywood, Florida’s earliest cinemas.
In posts on her blog, “Florida’s Hollywood: History and People”, Joan Mickelson, Ph. D. writes “the Garfield Theatre was a movie theater beside or behind Brandon’s Hippodrome” (a vaudeville venue) on North Federal Highway(U.S.1) at Garfield Street. It was destroyed by the Great Miami Hurricane of September 18th, 1926.
She says no further information regarding the Garfield Theatre has been found.

Says that back in the 1920’s US-1/North Federal Highway was called North 18th Avenue or “East Dixie”.
