Opened on May 19, 1949 with Bob Hope in “My Favorite Brunette” and Ray Milland in “California”. It was operated by Joseph Miller. Closed in 1965. Demolished right after closing for a Two Guys Department Store and Albany Public Food Market. The stores were later converted to offices, which they remain to this day. A replacement Drive-In, the Tri-City Twin, was built almost directly across the street right after this drive-in closed. The Tri-City is also now closed and demolished.

Boxoffice, July 28, 1958: “Joe Miller, onetime Columbia manager, said he was still passing up "fast buck” pictures at the Menands Drive-In on the Albany-Troy road. “I have not played them since I opened the theatre, and I plan to continue this policy,” he said."
Grand opening ad posted.
